Ps, Daniel, go back and listen to the interview over again...you need to understand what he was saying about the civil rights movement, Rosa Parks and strategy.

Just another Beckian tool...

Then the Bush tax cuts were radical ideas as were all other mechanisms in place in the last three decades that have stratified wealth for the ultra rich at the expense of the rest of us (probably including you!) They redistributed wealth from the bottom echelons to the very top. In fact, to speak of redistribution is a bit deceiving. Given the class war the rich have waged, any first measures would simply be 'correctives.'

Your argument about the Civil War is terribly off base as well. Did your relatives receive veterans benefits? Harriet Tubman worked for the Union Army and the government refused to recognize her service in that way.

Slavery was an economic institution whose legacy lives on.

Your argument makes little sense. If Jones advocates reparations and redistribution of "all" wealth then those are radical ideas. It doesn't matter who in the past had the same ideas, it's still radical. Hey, I want reparations because some of my relative died fighting to free the slaves. You talk about "context". Well take all the far left, radical crap that Jones has said. Certainly someone we should not have advising the President. And if this is the type of advise the President seeks out, then this is not the President we need in the U.S.

Indeed. None of what Jones says in the interview paints him as a 'Communist!' ...just an activist following in the (updated) tradition of Dr. King. Of course, this is all just really an effort to paint Obama as a Communist by association...FAIL!

Just thought I'd let you know as well, Great article. It's always great to see Glenn Beck deconstructed and expose just how stupid it all really is. I can't bring myself to watch, but I can imagine the seriousness of their discussion about mixed-marriages and the threat to our white country! It's no surprise that these people are trying to phase out the civil rights movements from their minds. Your commentary was spot on. Bravo.
