On this 30th – yes 30th! – installment of community media at its finest otherwise known as SolArt Radio, local Santa Ana-based band Street Spirit joins the crew for the hour! They lock down this week’s playlist featuring demo cuts from their early recordings. For those who have followed the diaspora of musicians following the break up of Mystery Hangup, Street Spirit finds former bassist Redd on guitars and vocals! SolArt Radio brings to you this week the music of one of LA’s best buzz bands of the year; La Santa Cecilia! The group joined the crew for laughs and songs following their performance at Santa Ana’s international music festival on Sunday night. Tune in to hear an interview with LSC as well as an unplugged performance! See them live at Breath of Fire’s annual “Noche de Milagros” fundraiser on December 5th and tell the band members you heard them on SolArt Radio!

In this latest installment of SolArt Radio, Marla Merlot returns for the first time since episode #2 (Too Much Wine!) Broadcasting from her secret quarters, Sali ‘Fire in the Lung’ and I hold down the mic with too much rum with special guest DJ Ruby Castellanos from Taller Sur! After spending a few weeks in Italy and recovering from the subsequent jet lag, the ladies of SolArt Radio have finally returned. Just in time for Santa Ana’s annual “Noche de Altares” celebration, this week episode vibes in the spirit of dia de los muertos.
